Religious Education, Faith Formation, and Retreat Services
- Educational Events Whether you are seeking someone to present an evening program, day of reflection, or weekend retreat the staff of St. Bridget is eager to help you customize your event. We will work with you to develop the program that best meets your needs. Below we have listed some examples of programming we do. Please contact us for to arrange a meeting to discuss your ideas.
- Protestant Spirituality The churches of the Reformation have fostered a sense of freedom, intellectual integrity, and scripture literacy. Often, though, Protestants want to find authentic expression of the deep heart needs and find little guidance for this pursuit. The Center staff can help Protestants find satisfying prayer and devotional practices in keeping with their religious tradition.
- Celtic Spirituality After centuries of neglect the Celtic spiritual tradition has found a new voice for the 21st century. This tradition is grounded in daily life, love of nature as a sign of Gods presence in the world, and strong family ties. The early Celtic Christians loved story, music, and poetry. These elements shaped their daily lives and religious services.
- Labyrinths There has been a renaissance in the uses of this ancient spiritual tool throughout the world. You can find labyrinths in churches, retreat centers, hospitals, and private yards. Walking a labyrinth can bring peace, calm, spiritual centeredness, and aid in finding harmony with self and others. We are able to help individuals and groups walk the path of self-discovery and healing using walking labyrinths as well as smaller hand labyrinths.
- Spirituality of Hildegard of Bingen A woman of spiritual depth and practical wisdom, Hildegard speaks to us today through her music, wisdom, and art. She was both a mystic and a realist who practiced herbal healing and gave the world haunting music that touches the soul.
- Spirituality of St. Bridget of Kildare A Celt of sixth century Ireland St. Bridget embodied spirituality based on the ancient Celtic tradition and the theology and practice of early Christianity. Discover anew this wisdom through the eyes of a woman for all ages.
- The Mind, Body, Spirit Connection - recognizes that humans exists in an interconnection of rational thought, embodied experience and spiritual growth. Integrating these fields of existence into a congruent whole is part of the great adventure of life. Both Rev. Ann and Rev. Chrystal are dedicated to helping people with this task. Both are practitioners of Reike, a healing art using light hand touch and prayer that encourage stress reduction, relaxation, and an overall sense of well-being.
- Retreats Time away for refreshment, renewal, and concentrated prayer and worship is a necessary component of the spiritual life. St. Bridget Spirituality Center does not maintain retreat space but works with various local facilities to provide meaningful retreat opportunities. The staff will help your group design a retreat format that can include conferences, quiet reflection, and spiritual practices. Options include a full-day, over-night or entire weekend event. Half day programs are also possible. Both small and larger groups can be accommodated.
